Feedback: Essential 2011 WWE matches

johnnynopulse: I would say any Tyson Kidd vs Justin Gabriel match from recently, especially the one on NXT

These have happened on TV shows that I don’t watch. I will try to check one out, but it would take an absolutely mind-blowing match to make my essentials list if there isn’t a good story behind it.

mixmastercereal: Sheamus vs. John Morrison in their ladder match at TLC. Great, great match.

Even as a certified John Morrison disliker, I agree. But this happened in 2010.

grapplekingdom: Christian/Orton from both Over the Limit and SummerSlam; OTL was Match of the Night, and SS was the best hardcore match in years.

I wasn’t as huge of a fan of the SummerSlam match; it was certainly very good, though. I picked the Money in the Bank one because it was a great representation of their series, and because of the memorable finish.

rpleclair: I’m fairly certain that the MITB, Summerslam, and Monday’s Cena vs. Punk matches are all great “essential” matches.

I’m pretty choosy when it comes to “essential.” It’s also really tough for more than one match in a feud to make that list. (Of course, this rating system is fairly new; perhaps I’ll change my mind over time.

summerslam: Punk v. Orton @ Mania.

This was damn good. So was their Extreme Rules match, actually.

iwaslikeemiloooo: Smackdown Elimination Chamber- my favourite match this year besides Punk/Cena at MITB.

Yeah, the Smackdown Chamber match might end up getting lost in the shuffle when it comes to accolades, but it was so super awesome. Drew McIntyre’s greatest night as a man.

iatemykittycat: Miz vs. Morrison for the WWE Title, falls count anywhere.

This was also very entertaining, but I can’t quite call it an essential. Maybe if I was a Miz and Morrison guy.
